Description

If you can recognise one or more of these foot problems, this kit might be something for you:

  • Hard skin on feet and heels
  • Painful heel cracks
  • Dry skin on feet
  • Sore feet
  • Sour toes

The products in the package are intended for daily cleansing and moisturising of the feet, so that cracks in the heels and hard skin on the feet is prevented. The products can also be used for a weekly footbath in order to reduce heel cracks and removing hard skin.

This is how you use the products daily

You should wash your feet daily with Body Wash, if you want to minimise smelly feet and keeping foot problems at bay. Wet your feet and massage the soap into the skin. Make sure you’re especially thorough in all areas of your feet – also in between your toes – so that you can rinse away dirt, sweat and bacteria. Rinse the products off, once you’re done.

Body Wash can easily be used in the bath tub, as the soap is suitable for the entire body. Once you’ve washed your feet, you need to moisturise them with a good foot cream. The foot cream contains 10% softening Urea – also known as Carbamid – which dissolves and moisturises hard skin and heel cracks. Massage the cream into the entire foot and pay special attention to the areas, where you are struggling with hard skin, calluses or dry skin. Give the cream a moment to dry up, before putting shoes and socks on, or going to bed.

This is how you use the products for your weekly foot bath

You don’t need to take long, warm foot baths every day, as this can lead to quite hard and dry skin. Instead, you can spoil your feet with a lovely, relaxing foot bath once per week.

Begin by washing your feet with the soap. Thereafter you fill a small tub with warm water and add a couple drops of the pure oil to the water, before putting your feet in. The pure oil adds a freshness to the water and also allows you to benefit from the bacteria resistant qualities.

Let your feet rest in the water for 10-15 minutes, before drying them off with a towel, making sure you get in between the toes as well.

Apply a generous layer foot cream on your feet and allow it to absorb. You can optionally put on a pair of cotton socks, after you’ve applied the cream. Cotton will allow your skin to breath, but also assures that the skin is kept warm, so that the cream is better absorbed.

How do you remove hard skin from feet and heels?

Many people think that long footbaths and a thorough job with the file is the road to soft and pretty feet. However, it can actually do more damage, than good.

A footbath for hard skin is good once in a while, but shouldn’t be done too often, as it can actually end up having the opposite affect, and drying out your skin. Hard skin is caused as a protective layer, if your feet and heels are exposed to friction. The outer layer of skin is made to protect the deeper skin layers, which means that filing your skin, will cause new, harder layers of skin to grow. In order to remove hard skin and calluses, you need to soften the skin. This is best done with a moisturising foot cream. The foot cream in this kit is made with bacteria resistant Tea Tree Oil, which protects the skin, as well as minimising bad odor from sweat.

Besides this the cream contains 10% Urea, which is also known by the name Carbamid. Urea gradually softens the hard skin and heel cracks when using it regularly. If your heel cracks are quite deep and sore, you should choose a heel cream, which has a higher content of Urea. We recommend the heel cream with 25% Urea from our foot care collection. If the hard skin or friction from your footwear have developed into painful corns, you can dissolve them by using a corn oil with salicylic acid along with the products in the kit.

About Tea Tree Oil

The story of healing tea trees dates back thousands of years and it originates from the Aboriginal people of Australia. Their legends describe lakes surrounded by tea trees. Falling leaves and twigs from the tea trees leached their essential oils into the water and turned the lakes into antiseptic baths. The lolacl Aborigines used these natural, healing spas to treat a number of conditions, such as skin infection, burns, cuts and insect bites.

The healing benefits of tea trees were not officially registred until 1923. However, the local Aboriginal tribe, Bundjalung, had long understood the protective and healing powers of tea trees and used their crushed leaves to treat various wounds and skin infections. They named the land with tea trees “Healing Ground”.

The products from Australian Bodycare contain natural, antiseptic Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia). Tea Tree Oil has been known and used by Australian Aborigines for centuries because of its powerful antiseptic effects. Tea Tree Oil has been added to all Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil products in different concentrations, depending on which skin problem the products is developed to combat and where on the body it is to be used. Our product series is tailored for the entire family: It prevents and treats the most common skin problems—all while staying gentle on the skin.
