Description

Do you suffer from dry mouth? You might recognise it here:

  • Your throat and mouth feel dry and you experience a sticky feeling between your teeth and gums
  • Your breath is bad and you experience pain when eating and swallowing
  • Your tongue is red, rough and dry and your lips are cracked

If you experience one or more of the above symptoms, you may be suffering from dry mouth. There may be several reasons why you experience dry mouth, but the most common include changes in hormone levels, such as pregnancy or menopause, taking medication, or if you feel stressed.

Whatever causes your dry mouth, you can care for your mouth and tongue to reduce the dry feeling and eventually prevent it. The 4 oral products in the pack are recommended for the daily care of dry mouth.

How to use the oral products for daily care

1) You should brush your teeth 2 times a day

Use the toothpaste when brushing your teeth in the morning and evening. Don't brush too hard and choose a soft toothbrush to avoid irritating your gums. Remember to brush thoroughly (including your tongue) to remove bacteria and minimise bad breath that can result from dry mouth.

Apply toothpaste to damp toothbrush and brush thoroughly for at least 2 minutes. When finished, spit out excess toothpaste. Wait up to 30 minutes before eating, drinking or rinsing your mouth. after brushing to allow the fluoride to work optimally.

2) Use mouthwash during the day

You may feel the need to clean your mouth during the day. Since you shouldn't brush your teeth more than twice a day, mouthwash is your saviour. Mouthwash cleanses your mouth of food debris and prevents bad breath. The mouthwash also feels soothing on the dry mouth and gums. Rinse a few times a day as needed.

Swirl about 20 ml of mouthwash around in your mouth for 1 minute. then spit out. Wait 30 minutes before eating or drinking to allow the active ingredients to soothe dry mouth.

3) Lubricate with mouth gel up to 4 times a day

The mouth gel provides moisture to dry gums and irritated mouth and can be used up to 4 times daily. The moisturising ingredients instantly soothe dry mouth and tongue.

Apply directly to areas of the mouth that feel dry. The gel should not be rinsed off, but left to work. You can use the gel several times a day - up to 4 times - whenever you need to. We recommend that you do not drink, eat or rinse your mouth for the first half hour after application. This will give the gel time to work on your dry mouth.

Why dry mouth products work

Dry mouth is an unpleasant condition characterised by the feeling of too little saliva in the mouth. In the worst case, dry mouth can cause difficulty and discomfort in swallowing food. A dry mouth also tends to cause bad breath, which can make social situations in everyday life more difficult.

The products in the pack ensure healthy oral hygiene, which is essential to minimise mouth problems. Both toothpaste and mouthwash help to relieve discomfort caused by dry mouth and reduce bad breath, among other things.

The mouth gel is based on Glycerin, Panthenol and Tea Tree Oil. Tea Tree Oil is known to counteract bacteria and relieve discomfort on the tongue and gums. Both Glycerin and Panthenol contribute moisturising properties while soothing dry mouth.

About Tea Tree Oil

The story of healing tea trees dates back thousands of years and it originates from the Aboriginal people of Australia. Their legends describe lakes surrounded by tea trees. Falling leaves and twigs from the tea trees leached their essential oils into the water and turned the lakes into antiseptic baths. The lolacl Aborigines used these natural, healing spas to treat a number of conditions, such as skin infection, burns, cuts and insect bites.

The healing benefits of tea trees were not officially registred until 1923. However, the local Aboriginal tribe, Bundjalung, had long understood the protective and healing powers of tea trees and used their crushed leaves to treat various wounds and skin infections. They named the land with tea trees “Healing Ground”.

The products from Australian Bodycare contain natural, antiseptic Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca Alternifolia). Tea Tree Oil has been known and used by Australian Aborigines for centuries because of its powerful antiseptic effects. Tea Tree Oil has been added to all Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil products in different concentrations, depending on which skin problem the products is developed to combat and where on the body it is to be used. Our product series is tailored for the entire family: It prevents and treats the most common skin problems—all while staying gentle on the skin.
