This is how you use tooth paste, mouth wash and mouth gel

Toothpaste

You should brush your teeth twice a day - morning and evening. This way you're sure to remove bacteria, food debris and plaque.

Apply the toothpaste to a damp toothbrush and spend 2 min. brushing to make sure you get all the way round. Spit out excess toothpaste when you're done brushing, but avoid rinsing your mouth.

You should not rinse your mouth, drink or eat for at least 30 min. after brushing your teeth to ensure the protective effect of fluoride on your teeth.

 

Mouthwash

Use mouthwash throughout the day when you feel the need to clean your mouth, for example after lunch. Mouthwash removes bacteria, food debris and bad breath and ensures your mouth stays clean between brushing your teeth.

Pour 20 ml of mouthwash into a glass and rinse your mouth thoroughly. Spit out any excess mouthwash when you're done. Do not use the mouthwash immediately after brushing your teeth as it will wash away the fluoride.

You should not rinse your mouth, drink or eat for at least 30 min. after brushing your teeth to ensure the protective effect of fluoride on your teeth.

 

Mouthgel

The mouth gel can and should be used up to 4 times a day to soothe and calm sore and swollen gums.

Squeeze about 2 cm of gel onto your finger and apply to the gums where they are sore and swollen. The mouth gel should not be rinsed off, but left in place to do its work.

 

Why are my gums sore and swollen?

There are several reasons why you may experience swollen gums. It's usually a sign that something is wrong in your mouth, which is why you should always visit a dentist or dental hygienist if you're unsure or need treatment.

Most often, swollen gums are caused by gingivitis. Gingivitis is common and most people will experience it one or more times throughout their lives. In addition to swollen gums, inflammation is also often characterised by sore and possibly bleeding gums. It's important to address the inflammation if it occurs, as in the worst case scenario, it can develop into periodontal disease.

Always visit your dentist or dental hygienist for treatment and control of gingivitis or other oral diseases.

 

How do I prevent swollen and sore gums?

To avoid or reduce swollen, irritated and sore gums, good daily oral health is essential. Brush your teeth both morning and night and floss between your teeth - every day.
