What is a blind pimple?

A blind pimple is a pimple that is located just below the surface of the skin. This is why we talk about undergrown pimples. Pimples, including blind pimples, are a skin condition caused by a hormonal change.

Pimples and blemishes are problems that mostly affect young people going through puberty, but some adults continue to have pimples much later. Regardless of the age, having pimples can be embarrassing and unpleasant. It is therefore useful to find a solution to get rid of it.

What does a blind pimple look like?

Pimples are a skin infection related to a hormonal imbalance. When the body produces a very large amount of hormones, the sebaceous glands secrete more sebum and become clogged. When sebum cannot get to the skin's surface and a bacteria enters the sebaceous gland, inflammations occurs and pimples appear.

A pimple is usually red and swollen and contains a yellowish pus that will flow from it when punctured.

What does it feel like when you have a blind pimple?

A blind pimple is a pimple that is still under the skin. It results in a small (or large) lump on the skin. The skin may be red and sore.

A blind pimple can be confused with a pimple that is still developing. But the developing pimple unlike a blind pimple can be burst when it reaches to the surface of the skin.

The clogged sebaceous glands can also burst under the skin, this is called a subcutaneous pimple. This looks like a lump, it is small and hard, and is present under the skin.

If a blind pimple bursts under the skin, it can cause an infection and you may get a small scar. When it comes to these little hard balls that we can have under the skin, we also talk about a cystic acne. It is a dilated and clogged sebaceous gland which in some cases can become infected and form an abscess.

Blind pimples can appear anywhere on the face and body: on the forehead, nose, chin, cheeks, neck, ears, arms, chest, back, and more. Ordinary pimples are itchy, but they can often be punctured (although you shouldn't) to therefore get rid of them.

But it's even more frustrating to feel a pimple under your skin that you can't even remove. Even if you try - and this is strongly discouraged, as you risk damaging your skin - it feels like this pimple will never get to the surface of the skin, as if the skin is too thick for it.

How do you get rid of a pimple under the skin?

Pimples, both blind and other types of pimples, are annoying and very unpleasant.

Having pimples and an unclean skin can affect our mood. Unfortunately, there are plenty of products on the market that promise you this, there is no miracle cure that can provide a beautiful, clean skin in an instant.

When it comes to blind pimples and pimples in general, you will only get results with prolonged efforts, provided you use the right anti-pimple products. Whether you have pimples under your skin or other types of pimples, we do not recommend piercing them as you may damage your skin and cause a scare.

Either way, it is often impossible to pierce a blind subcutaneous.

Take care to wash and clean your skin properly

As the video above shows, the most effective way to fight blind pimples and other types of pimples is to wash, cleanse, and nourish your skin properly. It is important to wash and clean your skin well every day, morning, and evening. You need to be able to remove excess sebum and cleanse your skin effectively, yet gently.

It is also to prevent bacteria from entering the sebaceous glands. It is therefore wise here to opt for products with an antibacterial effect, such as products with essential tea tree oil.

In particular, you can choose the Face Care Line and the Body Care Line from Australian Bodycare. These two ranges include products to wash, cleanse and nourish your skin. Each of these products are based on tea tree oil, renowned for its antibacterial properties, which is ideal for effective care against pimples and impurities.

Select a good nourishing cream

When you have washed your skin, it is essential to hydrate it well. Some people, prone to pimples and impurities and having oily skin, hesitate to use a cream.

But that's taking the risk of having a dehydrated skin. Also, you may find that your skin is producing even more sebum, and that is not a good thing. You should therefore use an effective nourishing cream. This is what your skin needs.

However, be sure to choose an anti-pimple cream, specially formulated to fight pimples and impurities, and don't forget to apply a Face Cream on the face and a Body Lotion or Body Cream on the body.

Talk to your doctor about your problems

If you have a lot of blind pimples and possibly other types of pimples, in addition to your skin care you may need your doctor to prescribe an ointment or cream and perhaps tablets. In rarer cases, antibiotic treatment, or surgery to remove a pimple under the skin may be necessary.

In this case, you will need to consult your doctor or a dermatologist.

Why do we have blind pimples?

Blind pimples form when a sebaceous gland produces too much sebum and becomes clogged. Pimples are usually linked to a hormonal imbalance. When our bodies make more hormones, for example at puberty, our sebaceous glands also make more sebum and can become clogged.

A blind pimple is a pimple that, for some unknown reason, does not get to the surface of the skin, but stays under the skin. The best way to prevent and get rid of pimples under your skin is to cleanse and nourish your skin well every day.

Exfoliation, or skin peeling, can also help you remove dead skin cells, excess fat, dirt, and prevent your oil glands from becoming clogged. This is one way to reduce the risk of getting breakouts under the skin.
