Nail fungus is not very contagious and can be treated with an antifungal medicine, usually tablets, but the treatment is not always effective. The fungus also often comes back.

It is therefore a very good idea to treat symptoms and prevent infection as soon as symptoms appear. The fungus thrives in warm shoes and moist environments. Nail fungus often causes itching and irritation.

Start by cutting off the old nail so you can get to it and then file away the dead nail with a coarse nail file where the fungus has done its damage. Apply the oil according to the instructions in the packet. Repeat 2 times a day to avoid itching and irritation. Continue filing the nail.

The story of healing tea trees dates back thousands of years and it originates from the Aboriginal people of Australia. Their legends describe lakes surrounded by tea trees. Falling leaves and twigs from the tea trees leached their essential oils into the water and turned the lakes into antiseptic baths.
